can't catch a break!!

My poor Chelsei-roo!!

she is sick yet again!! she came to me tuesday morning telling me "it feels like i'm sick" so I checked her temp and sure enough-102.5!! she had no other symptoms so I was stumped. figured it was just a virus but later that day she started complaining her throat and tummy was hurting. She'd had strep a few months back with the same symptoms so I immediately made her a dr. appt.

turns out she has herpangina (sounds so nasty doesn't it) which causes cold sore-like blisters in the back of her throat and on the roof of her mouth!! dr said they will last about a week,are very painful (especially when they open),and she'll run high fevers the whole time. The dr gave me some tylenol w/codeine and a swish medicine w/lidocaine in it to help her with the pain. I've been worried about her dehydrating since she refuses to eat and hardly will drink anything (ice chips and popsicles do seem to help though)-i've been keeping close eye on that.

this poor kid-she catches strep, gets a foot infection that lands her in the hospital,breaks her toe,and is now sick again!! what a rough summer she is having (although she did excellent on our trip praise god). she has been so good spirited about it all though. her pain threshold and temperament amazes me-I wish I could be as easygoing as she is.....
